About Caroline Horvat

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

I have always held a strong interest in psychology and mental health since a young age. I enjoy being part of each client’s journey to recovery and watching them grow. I bring an empathetic, authentic, and collaborative approach to my practice to create a warm and safe environment for my clients where they feel supported and understood. I enjoy supporting and working with individuals across the lifespan and I have had experience working with a wide range of psychological concerns in both community-based organisations and private settings.

“I believe each individual deserves an opportunity to
feel heard, understood and supported.”

How I help

My work currently supports clients with therapeutic, assessment and diagnostic services. As a psychologist, I work with my clients to achieve their individual goals using a client-centred and strengths-based approach. As each client is different, I tailor my approaches to meet the unique needs of each person and will work with them to decide what will work best for the
client. Additionally, I find it important for each client have a strong sense of autonomy when working with me as I believe each client is the expert in their own life.

I value collaboration with your support network where appropriate (including parents, schools, and other health professionals) to promote a stronger understanding of your strengths and challenges, and to implement the support to enable you to build coping mechanisms and create changes to support your well-being. I see clients with a range of presentations, including stress, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), low self-esteem, anger management, trauma, school bullying and relationship challenges. My approach draws upon a wide range of evidence-based psychological treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema-informed
therapy.

Why I’m here

I feel very fortunate to be working at Boutique Psychology as a Provisional Psychologist. I believe working in a small team of passionate and committed therapists allows for a warm and collaborative environment where I feel supported.

There is such diversity among both staff and clients and I believe I working here allows me to grow both personally and
professionally.
